About Us

Lisa Smith

I grew up in the Dallas, TX area and have always been in love with dogs. In high school, after I came home with a pit-bull mix puppy, my father insisted I take the dog to obedience training. This was my first experience with dog training and I found it fun & exciting!

After high school, I went to college and attained a B.A. in psychology while working part time at a veterinary clinic. When college was completed, I decided I still wanted to work with dogs.  I then took a trainers course through The Professional Dog Training Center.

When I moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1992, I connected with a local trainer and there discovered a gentle, more modern method. After my daughter was born, we all moved from New Mexico to the Ozarks to be closer to my extended family.

I love living here along with my husband of 21 years, 13 year old daughter and 3 fur children (a 9 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Tori, a 8 year old Cavalier named Thomas, and 2 year old, Piper, a Pomeranian mix.

To me, dogs aren’t just pets, they are family.  That’s why I specialize in Pet Dog Training that uses gentle, positive, proven techniques.  I know my part in helping dogs become polite and obedient means they will be enjoyed more by the community and will have a much better chance of staying in their homes for their lifetimes.

Even though I have 19 years of dog training experience, I understand the importance of continuing education.  I freely admit there is always something new to learn, new ways to helps guardians and their dogs.  For this reason, I’m a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and often participate in their annual trainers conferences.   Working with dogs is where God has gifted me and I find it a joy!
